Think back 30 or more years….
If you grew up in the Philadelphia area, you probably remember a small store at Broad St & Stenton Ave that became an icon on the Philly landscape. It was a place where you, your parents and perhaps your grandparents shopped, as well as many celebrities and athletes. It was THE place to go for Levi’s, Lees and Wrangler jeans, Tony Lama, Justin and Frye boots, western shirts, belts and other leather goods. In fact, it was the only place where you could get your jeans altered FREE…while you waited (and it was done quickly and professionally). A few of you even worked there (myself included). That store was Rodeo Ben’s. When it closed, it truly was the end of an era.
Recently, I have been in contact with Rodeo Ben’s grandson who also worked there, and we are considering the re-opening of that great little store. Of course, Western style may not be mainstream fashion now (though everything is cyclic…), but jeans and boots never go out of style. Nor do leather goods, does riding equipment for those of you who ride horses, or who ride motorcycles with lots of horse- power.
So here’s what we'd like to know from you…and thank you for your input.
