What is the Public Art Grant for Baltimore City Schools?

Arts Every Day’s Public Art Grant will provide Baltimore City Public schools with the opportunity to apply for funding to implement an outcome-based art project that will have a long-term educational and community-based impact on their students and the surrounding community. Check out our past projects on our website

Schools will need to propose a project concept with an artist partner, a budget, and a timeline. The grant requires at least one community work day or unveiling event.

Applications will be reviewed on an annual basis by a panel of community members. 

Requirements:
  • Must be a Baltimore City Public School
  • Project must include one community workday and/or event
  • Project must be permanent and site-specific
  • Proposed budget must not exceed $5,000
  • Project must have at least one artist partner
  • Projects must be completed by June 2023
  • Projects proposals must include a letter of support from the school’s Principal

EXAMPLE:

  • March - garden design workshops with 5th grade students lead by artist/provider
  • April - 5th grade students work with mosaic artist 2 x a week to create outdoor mosaic path
  • May 3rd - students host a community workday in the garden/community members make additional mosaic stepping stones
  • May 15th - finish installing all mosaic work in the garden
  • May 31st - unveiling event in the garden, including music, food and local community leaders
