You belong in this body of Christ! That means you have a part to play. This survey will serve as a start – or a refresher – in figuring out what that is. At the end of September our Nominations committee will review the results and direct someone to be in touch to finalize the process with you.

Substitute in the Early Learning Center (preschool). Volunteering to cover or assist in a classroom when students are out. Weekday mornings only.

Help cover the nursery on Sunday mornings or special occasions. Sunday mornings are a 9:45 – 11am commitment.

Help with school break care for elementary school students during Christmas, Spring, or Summer breaks. Can be a couple hours during the day or a full day.

Volunteer for special events. Camp Patton Springs, Vacation Bible School, Halloween, Father/Daughter Dance, etc.

Provide a sit-down dinner for 20 people (mostly middle school students) for the after school program on Tuesday or Thursdays at 5pm. You would be encouraged to spend 30 minutes eating with the students. HIGHTS staff will help serve the meal and clean up.

Teach a specialized class for the after school program on Tuesday or Thursday afternoons (art, music, crafts, woodworking, gardening, etc.). This happens between 3:30 and 5pm.

Be a general volunteer to help supervise the after school program for middle school students. This happens between 3:30 and 5:30pm.

Set up and take down for events. Setting up tables and chairs (or other room preparation) before and after events.

Recycling Coordinator. Setting up recycling containers in appropriate locations; spending 30 minutes to an hour a week collecting it and taking it to a recycling center.

Kitchen manager(s). (This job can be done by more than one person.) Oversee the use and maintenance of the kitchen and its equipment. Maintain instructions for proper use of kitchen. Meet with outside groups wanting to use our kitchen and be present with them during events if needed. Take inventory and order supplies as needed. Check regularly to assess other needs.

Outdoor upkeep (individual volunteering or organizing group work). Examples: spreading mulch, weeding, trimming, picking up trash, pressure washing, sweeping walkways.
