Please help set priorities for the new Rainier Beach High School building.

Seattle Public Schools has adopted the following Attributes of High Achieving Schools to guide the construction of new and renovated schools:
Learner-Centered Environment; Program Adaptability; Community Connections; Collaboration; Aesthetics; Personalizing Environment; Safety; Sustainability.

The District provides additional language for each attribute. For Sustainability, the language reads:

Create schools that encourage a culture of conservation and environmentally responsible behaviors by combining learning with sustainability.

On December 8th and 15th, 2020 the Rainier Beach High School design team held Integrated Design Workshops with the goal of establishing project priorities related to sustainable design strategies.

Participants included students and teachers participating in the School Design Advisory Team, Seattle Public Schools staff responsible for facilities and capital projects, and the architects and engineers working on the design of the new building.

The workshops were held virtually using the Zoom platform. Because not everyone could attend the workshops on the dates scheduled, we have created this survey to gather input from additional people in the community.

Thank you for responding to this survey and helping to set goals and priorities for the new Rainier Beach High School building.
