* 2. Frances M. Wells Award An award that originated during Dakin Humane Society's earliest years in honor of Greenfield Animal Shelter's benefactor, Frances M. Wells, for whom the shelter was originally named after to recognize his contribution in building the area's first animal shelter. This award is given to an individual recognized for notable contributions to the Heath and Welfare of Animals.

* 3. Youth Award This award honors a hero, 16 years or younger, who through the display of extraordinary care and compassion makes a difference in the life of an animal and makes the world a kinder and gentler place.

* 4. Champion Award Honors a public servant who faithfully served and made life better for tens of thousands of animals and people in western Massachusetts. This award honors their dedication and compassion on behalf of animals and people in need.

* 5. Richard and Nathalie Woodbury Award Named after the couple whose vision and legacy secured Dakin’s future. This award is given to an individual who displays a remarkable sense of stewardship in sharing time, talent and financial resources to improve the lives of animals and people who love them.
