Decide what type of event you wish to host and sanction. The AAU offers sanctions in the following event categories: National, Regional and District Championships, Invitationals, Leagues, Tournaments, Clinics, Meets, Sports Festivals and more.

Make sure you have an adequate number of qualified officials, volunteers, and staff.
Tell us more about your people power.
Develop the appropriate entry material for your event which includes, (but is not limited to) the following: Cover Letter, General Information and Rules, Sign-Up Sheet, Entry Fee, AAU membership information, etc.

Distribute entry materials to potential coaches and participants.
How many participants will your event host?
Remember everyone participating in your event (Athletes, Non-athletes: Coaches/Volunteers/Officials) must be an AAU member.
