Our hospital qualifies for Get Youth Working subsidies through the government, to hire 18-29 year old, under- or precariously employed individuals.

The following optional two questions do not determine your eligibility for these positions... we simply hire the best candidates, and if they qualify for the grant, great. If not, then we still have the best candidates! Over the last three years, we have hired both staff who did and did not qualify for the subsidy.

So the reason we ask these questions, is because we must use different processes to hire people that do or do not qualify for the subsidy. (There is extra paperwork with the subsidy.)
