This free one-day program is for Maryland attorneys who wish to qualify for appointment as a child's best interest, child's advocate, or child's privilege attorney under Maryland Rule 9-205.1. This basic training conforms with Guideline 4 of the Maryland Guidelines for Practice for Court-Appointed Lawyers Representing Children in Cases Involving Child Custody or Child Access.
Space is limited. Priority will be given to attorneys who commit to accepting one pro bono appointment as child counsel and have not attended a prior child counsel training. You will receive an email notifying you if a seat has been reserved for you (this may take a couple of weeks). Others will be placed on a waiting list.
