LLN and English Test Guide
This LLN and English proficiency test has been designed for its target audience. The test items specifically focus on reading writing, literacy and numeracy that is required in Certificate IV to Advanced Diploma level vocational courses. The test items have been adapted from English Language Centre sources and thus meet the requirements of a valid, reliable, fair, effective and well-constructed assessment tool.
The test items and the test marking rubric have been extensively informed by
· The ELLNA Kit from AMES, 2015
· The Australia Core Skills Framework, Commonwealth of Australia, 2012
The LLN and English proficiency test allows candidates to demonstrate the minimum requirements for entry to VET courses as well as diagnosing each candidate’s LLN needs specifically to assist them where necessary.
There are three parts to the reading and writing test which must be completed in 60 minutes.
Part A – Reading and Numeracy - 20 minutes
Part B – Grammar and Numeracy - 10 minutes
Part C – Writing - 30 minutes
If you exceed the time allocated for each section of the test we cannot guarantee a successful outcome.
