We invite you to take part in an online survey being conducted by qualitative researchers at the California State University of Chico. You are eligible to participate in this survey if you are over the age of 18 years and have ever been placed in foster care as a youth. The purpose of this survey is to investigate how spending time in the foster care system affects the formation of intimate relationships. The results of this survey will be used for a campus presentation.
The survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete. All of your information will be kept completely anonymous. All of your answers will be encrypted before it is sent to a password-protected file. In addition, your name will never be linked to your answers and your answers will never be discussed individually, only in combination with those who also spent time in the foster system.
Your participation is completely voluntary. There are no projected risks or benefits involved with your participation.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Stephanie Pease at Sociology@csuchico.edu. You may also contact our faculty advisor, Dr. Liahna E. Gordon, at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you believe your rights as a research participant have been violated, then please call the Chair of the Institutional Review Board, Dr. Michael Mahoney at (530)898-6410.
