Shared Maternity Care General Practitioners- Victorian Maternity Record Survey

The Victorian Maternity Record (VMR) provides women a hand-held record of their pregnancy care and progress. The record was implemented to improve the quality and consistency of information provided to women, inform decision making, facilitate communication between service providers and enhance continuity of care. A 2015 review of the VMR found that its use between practitioners varied due to its large size, outdated information and preference of electronic record keeping.
