In 2022, 5 hours of funded 3 year old kindergarten will be available in Bass Coast Shire meaning that children will have access to two years of funded kindergarten programs. Funded kindergarten means the government will help the kindergarten service with the cost of your child attending. This helps keep your fees low. 

Bass Coast Shire Council is collecting information from families to understand your needs in relation to kindergarten.

The information collected in this survey will be used by Bass Coast Shire Council, Bass Coast Health and Kindergarten Service Providers to assist with the rollout of funded 3 year old kindergarten in 2022 and help Council and kindergartens meet the growing demand for kindergarten across the Shire.

Council will be implementing a centralised kindergarten registration system for children attending kindergarten in 2022. This will provide a single point for families to apply for multiple kindergarten services within Bass Coast Shire and will:
  • Simplify the registration process for families
  • Creates an equitable and fair process for kindergarten placement
  • Helps to shape our early year’s services and infrastructure planning.
