The Cancer Surgery Standards Program (CSSP) seeks input from ACS members who are interested in surgical quality, including surgeons, trainees, and registrars, to participate in one 2-hour focus group to review and provide feedback on a new operative standards product. The CSSP is developing a new series of educational guidebooks for surgeons in practice and trainees that replace the Operative Standards for Cancer Surgery manuals. These guides detail evidence-based technical standards for the technical conduct of oncologic surgical procedures and include structured synoptic operative reports for relevant operations. Participants in this focus group will review a draft document and provide feedback on its utility, format, and implementation.

Participants would need to attend one 2-hour focus group via Zoom on April 25 from 2-4 pm CT. Up to one hour of preparation will be required to review the product and complete a brief survey. The total time commitment estimated at 3 hours.

If you are interested in participating in this focus group, complete the Survey Monkey by Monday, April 1st. Focus group participants must be available to attend the entire 2-hour focus group call on 4/25 from 2-4 pm CT. Participants will be selected based on various factors including their role, practice type, and years in practice. Please forward this announcement to surgeons at your facility. Notification of volunteer selection will be communicated by Monday, April 8th.
