Virtual Workshops Interest Form
Pursuant to a grant from the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Program to Support Tribal Resilience and Ocean and Coastal Management and Planning, the National Indian Justice Center (NIJC) implements the Assessing Climate Change Induced Vulnerabilities in Tribal Transportation Systems in California Project to address training needs for California Tribes.
The goal is to increase California Tribes' resilience to climate change using culturally appropriate frameworks and methods for conducting a tribal community-informed vulnerability assessment. The curriculum will provide strategies and tools for incorporating Traditional Knowledges (TKs) and climate change vulnerability planning into transportation plans and other tribal plans where appropriate.

The Assessing Climate Change Vulnerabilities in Tribal Transportation Systems in California online workshop will be delivered from March/April to June 2021. The online workshops will cover all aspects of conducting a vulnerability assessment with an audience of about 20, made up of tribal leaders, tribal transportation planners, and other tribal government personnel.
The online workshops will be conducted online via Zoom software. The training curriculum will be presented in a series of webinars. Rather than offering them in a three-day online workshop, we will be delivering them by day (i.e., two live deliveries of day one, etc.), one day at a time throughout a couple of weeks from May to June.
