Register your opinion - Council does not support Recognised Biosecurity Groups
You will have recently received a Public Notice from the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) informing you of the proposed rates to be imposed on Boyup Brook to administer Biosecurity controls through the Recognised Biosecurity Group, Blackwood Biosecurity Inc.
Please note your Council does not support Recognised Biosecurity Groups.
At no point in time has Council supported the inclusion of the Boyup Brook district in the Blackwood Biosecurity Inc. capture area and has not released shire property rates information from the Shire's ratebook to the Office of State Revenue to allow this process to begin. Hence the sending of the DPIRD's Public Notice has not been endorsed by your Shire Council.
Note: Western Australian Local Governments Association's State Council Resolution March 2017-14.1/2017 states:
"Local Government are not supportive of Recognised Biosecurity Groups (RBGs)."
