It's time to celebrate Seattle's arts and cultural community with the 15th annual Mayor's Arts Awards! Who should be recognized for contributing to our cultural landscape? Who has left a lasting legacy for Seattle? Who is doing really, really good work? You tell us.

The Mayor's Arts Awards recognize the accomplishments of artists, arts and cultural organizations and community members committed to enriching their communities through the arts. The Mayor's Arts Awards is a program of the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture.

DEADLINE: Thursday, May 31, 2017 at 11 p.m.

QUESTIONS: (206) 684-7171

GUIDELINES
There are three (3) categories - please read the category descriptions below. Nominees should have made significant contributions to the arts and culture of Seattle through noteworthy service or creative accomplishments within these categories. Award winners should have broad, city-wide impact. Please provide us with information that demonstrates the accomplishments of the individual/artist/organization in their field.

Please keep in mind that the selection panel places value on the quality of the nomination vs. the quantity of nominations received.

Previous award recipients are ineligible to win again. Please check the list of past winners before you make a nomination. Seattle Office of Arts & Culture staff, Seattle Arts Commissioners and Mayor’s Arts Awards sponsors are also ineligible (however awesome they may be).

The Office of Arts & Culture uses a racial equity lens to make decisions. We believe that recommended solutions of the past, which have focused on diversity rather than racial equity, have not resulted in equitable access to opportunities and outcomes for artists and people of color nationally or locally, and addressing historic injustices is a vital component of achieving equity for communities of color.
