Education:
MBA or equivalent from HEC recognized university, preferably specialization or certification in Supply Chain.
Experience:
5 - 8 years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Commodities
Liaison with internal stakeholders for monthly import planning of commodities (Poly Propylene/ Catalysts/DAP/Coal/Rock phosphate).
Sourcing, ordering and execution for import of commodities orders which includes:-
- Request for Quotations to approved suppliers along with alternate sourcing (if required)
- Follow up for quotations & CST cum approval note for the management (along with addressing queries of management, if any, till final approval )
- Budget Clearance through finance department
- Internal Audit reviews and ordering in ERP
- LCs through Finance department
- Arrangement of inspections at load port / discharge port (if required, based on nature of the cargo as per SOPs)
- Follow up for deliveries and import documentations and status sharing with end users about shipment arrivals.
- Coordination with custom clearance team of SCF for custom clearance and inland logistics
Logistics
Liaison with Internal stakeholders for planning of volumes / quotas for logistics of commodities (Rock Phosphate / Coal/ Phosphoric Acid/imported fertilizers/ containerized cargo etc.)
Conducts existing transporter’s capability analysis
Benchmark FG transportation rates with competitors on monthly basis.
Formulation of strategy for new contracts with consolidated volumes (Inbound / Outbound) to ensure realization of potential savings v/s existing rates.
Time to time comparison b/w Road & Rail freights and maximization of volumes transport through economical mode of transport, either via Road or Rail.
Sourcing, negotiation & finalization of formal contracts / MOU for Inbound & Outbound Logistics (Road & Rail) by following the department’s policies / SOPs.
In case of transport via Rail, opening of Freight Deposit Accounts (FDA) with Pakistan Railway for Inbound /Outbound Logistics, Submission of freights in FDA liaison with Pakistan Railways for availability of railways wagons and day to day communication.
Coordination with all stakeholders for smooth business operation and addressing of day to day queries
Development & Evaluation of score cards for transporters’ performance on quarterly basis
To suggest improvements in system from time to time and closely work on them with Unit Manager
