The Listening Partner Initiative is open to Ministry Leaders and Lay Leaders across Canada who might be seeking a one-time listening session, time-limited recurring listening session (regularly scheduled sessions for a defined period of time), or one-time group facilitation. While we believe a good listener does not have to have had the same experiences as the one seeking the listening in order to reflect well and guide a speaker through a helpful journey of sorting out their thoughts and feelings, we also hope to match seekers and listeners for the best experience for both. We also acknowledge that this is a peer support initiative, not a therapy or counselling relationship. We therefore do not expect any listeners to be experts or professionals in the areas listed below, we simply would like to know where you feel you have had experience and what topics you feel comfortable walking through with others. 17. The minimum time commitment for this volunteer position is as follows:

10-15 hours in June/July/August to attend Listening Partner Training (TBC)
2 hours/week for listening sessions
90 mins/month to attend a learning lab
2 hours/month to facilitate an affinity group
2 hours/quarter to participate in group supervision
1-2 days/year for an in-person event/retreat
