Intelligence Leadership & Governance: Building Effective Intelligence
Communities Project

Information for Survey Participants - Please Read Prior to Completing the Survey

Associate Professor Patrick F Walsh from Charles Sturt University is currently involved in a research project that will assess the impact of leadership across our intelligence communities in the post 9/11 context.

In summary, the research will be exploring two factors.  First, it will investigate what individual attributes leaders should have to be effective stewards of change in our intelligence communities. Second, the research explores what organisational factors influence better leadership outcomes and adaptation for our intelligence communities.

Data will be gathered using both surveys and interviews and will be published in the monograph (Intelligence Leadership & Governance: Building Effective Intelligence Communities) that the researcher is contracted to deliver to Routledge (UK). It is also possible, that the data may be used in other publications subsequent to the book's publication.

Information for survey participants

Participants who wish to complete the survey can do so below.  There are 23 questions with an estimated completion time of between 25-30 minutes.  The questions relate to your broad experience and understanding of leadership in the intelligence context and do not in any way seek the collection of sensitive operational information. It is hoped that the questions asked in the survey will provide a broader understanding of leadership attributes and organisational issues that may be important to improving knowledge about leadership.

Completion and return of the survey will be taken by the researcher as  your consent to participate in it. Participation in the survey is not compulsory. All data from the surveys will be used in a way that is non-identifiable and available only to the researcher.
