Now is your chance! Gateway PTSA has the opportunity to recognize one or more outstanding volunteers, educators, and/or advocates. This year’s Awards Team would like you to participate in the selection of our award recipients through your nominations!

All nominees will be considered by the committee, regardless of the number of nominations any individual receives. Recipients may receive each of the awards from Gateway PTSA over their lifetime of service, but may not be nominated for the same award more than once.

Golden Acorn: This award is for recognition of a volunteer who has given outstanding service to all children in the school community… not just an individual who has donated time to help in his / her child’s class. It is to recognize volunteer service “above and beyond” the normal scope or responsibilities of a particular job, project, or team and honors those who have given exemplary service to children and youth.

Outstanding Educator: Award is offered by Washington State PTA and presented by a local PTSA to an individual who has not only provided outstanding educational opportunities for children and youth, but goes beyond the normal scope of their job and makes the learning environment fun, beneficial, and challenging.

Outstanding Advocate: Recipients demonstrate a commitment to helping create strong policies relating to the health, welfare, safety, and education of ALL children and youth through PTA legislation, private organizations, education and/or community outreach programs. Recipients may have sponsored food drives, lead children's programs or been involved in important PTA issues.

Outstanding Student Advocate: presented by a local PTSA or council or region to recognize students who have made significant contributions through leadership and service in their schools and community.
