Andela x OpenAI Codex Accelerator Program
The Andela x OpenAI Codex Accelerator program is a three-week learning program designed to help you build practical proficiency in OpenAI Codex for real-world software development workflows.
The program combines structured self-paced learning, live workshops, guided practice, and project ideation to help you move beyond passive learning into practical application. It is short, focused, and execution-driven, with the goal of preparing you to use Codex effectively in real engineering tasks and to be ready for a live project showcase during our next Nairobi Community meetup on May 19.
During the program, you’ll be expected to:
Dedicate time each week to complete the assigned learning resources
Attend live workshop sessions and actively participate in hands-on activities
Practice using Codex across tasks such as coding, debugging, planning, review, and documentation
By the end of the program, you should be able to:
Design and begin implementing a production ready project using Codex
Explain what OpenAI Codex is and how it fits into modern engineering workflows
Set up and use Codex across supported environments such as CLI, IDE, desktop, and cloud workflows
Use Codex for code generation, debugging, refactoring, documentation, planning, and review
Apply prompt and context engineering techniques more effectively
Work with structured and agentic Codex workflows
