Thank you for taking part in this survey of accommodation providers and tourism businesses in North Lanarkshire.
TOPOSOPHY is carrying out this research on behalf of North Lanarkshire Council. The Council is developing a Visitor Strategy for 2027 to 2037 and is currently exploring the feasibility of a visitor levy under the Visitor Levy (Scotland) Act 2024, which, if agreed at a future council meeting, would then commence formal engagement with the public.
A visitor levy would be charged on the purchase of overnight accommodation, including hotels, guest houses, bed and breakfast, self-catering, camping sites and caravan parks, at a percentage or fixed rate. If agreed, the Council would decide the amount, the area where it applies and any local exemptions. No decision has been taken, so responding does not commit you or the Council to a position.
This survey is anonymous. We do not ask for your name, your business name, your address or your postcode. Results are reported in aggregate and no individual business will be identified. The only exception is the final question, where you may choose to leave an email address if you would like to take part in a follow-up interview. Leaving it blank keeps your response entirely anonymous.
The survey takes around 10 minutes and is open until Monday 5 October 2026 at 09.00.
