Each funeral director and embalmer must successfully complete the Nebraska Jurisprudence Examination within each 10 year period of time as a condition of renewal (the first period is 2/1/2006-2/1/2016). This examination is a free, online open book examination developed by the Board for the purpose of assuring that all licensees understand the Funeral Directing and Embalming Practice Act and regulations and the Uniform Credentialing Act.

This examination is comprised of 50 multiple-choice questions covering the Rules and Regulations relating to Funeral Directing and Embalming and Establishments (Chapters 67 & 68), the Statutes Relating to Funeral Directing and Embalming, Establishments, and Cremation (2008), the Uniform Credentialing Act (2008), and the Vital Statistic Statutes. All documents can be viewed or downloaded at: http://dhhs.ne.gov/licensure/Pages/funeral-directing-and-embalming.aspx
