Event Coordinator

Marijuana Business Daily, the most trusted trade publisher serving entrepreneurs and major investors in America's $5 billion cannabis industry, is seeking an Event Coordinator to join our staff. This is a full-time position based in our Denver office and offers a competitive salary, paid time off, 401(k), and health benefits. The Event Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Event Operations team in developing, organizing, and executing a wide array of deliverables in conjunction with the two national conferences. (www.mjbizconference.com)
Client Relationships
  • Work in conjunction with the Sales team to facilitate exhibitor needs including development of Exhibitor Services Manual, client requests and show services
  • Manage and track all client booth deliverables to ensure production deadlines are met
  • Manage and track all client sponsorship opportunities and associated deliverables
Vendor Management
  • Partner with designated General Contractors to ensure all deliverables for internal show materials are met, including but not limited to show booth, graphics, carpeting, materials, etc.
  • Research external vendor partners for the execution of various show elements, including, temp staffing, security, print materials, transportation
  • Work with housing bureau to monitor and manage rooms blocks
  • Review supplier bills for accuracy to ensure timely payment
Production Management
  • Work with marketing team to track onsite deliverables including print materials, signage, graphics, etc.
  • Source, manage and track branded inventory
  • Manage inventory, and distribution of onsite materials
General & Onsite Administration
  • Acts as a resource for clients, service providers and other staff with regard to guidelines, procedures, and processes.
  • Liaison with Registration Manager for attendee registration requirements.
  • Provides assistance to internal staff and contractors traveling to the conference.
  • Assume onsite oversight to designated function areas
  • Other tasks as assigned
  • 1-3 years' experience in the meeting, event and tradeshow industry
  • Must be able to manage time and prioritize work effectively, be a team player, work independently, meet stringent deadlines, and work well under pressure.
  • Possess applicable analytical and problem-solving skills and a high degree of responsibility, initiative, and professionalism
  • Must be able to travel to two (2) annual events (includes weekends) with the potential for additional travel during the year (maximum 10% additional travel)
Founded in 2011, Marijuana Business Daily publishes exclusive daily news, a monthly print magazine and annual numbers-based research reports. The company also produces two annual trade shows: MJBizCon in Las Vegas every November and MJBizConNEXT in various cities each May.
