Age UK Day Care Survey |
1. Welcome to the Age UK Day Care Survey
This survey is designed to help us develop a sketch of the Network Partners’ day care offers. We want to use this sketch:
- to help you to tell the story of your offer in the context of the wider evidence base around day care services for older people
- to help us to collectively find ways to strengthen daycare care offers across the network so that more older people can benefit.
Completing the survey
This survey is not an audit; we’re looking for a sense/estimate and your impressions and perceptions about your day care services and the people who use them, rather than precise and detailed responses.
This survey is not an audit; we’re looking for a sense/estimate and your impressions and perceptions about your day care services and the people who use them, rather than precise and detailed responses.
- Who should complete the survey? Someone who is delivering the service or involved enough to have a view of the day-to-day without seeking information from other people.
- How long will it take to complete the survey? about 20 – 30 minutes. The questionnaire contains 31 questions – most are check box questions.
- Is the survey anonymous? Yes. There is one question about funding sources that asks you to add your email address if you are happy to have a follow-on conversation – this question is optional and you do not need to answer it to progress through the survey.
- Who will see the individual survey responses? Only the independent researcher analysing the survey will see the individual survey responses. The Age UK team will only have access to aggregated responses.
What do we mean by day care?
We know day care means lots of different things. For the purpose of this survey:
- Day care for older people can be described in many ways, including day centres, day clubs, day services, day opportunities, day provision and day care.
- Day care includes community-based structured activities and support for older people over several hours or the whole day.
- Day care does not include single activities and classes or support, or cafes that people come and use (but don’t access any other local Age UK support and services while they are there).
