Nurse Practitioners Use of POCUS (Point-of-Care Ultrasound)

Description: Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) is the use of ultrasound technology to enhance the provider’s physical examination and differential diagnoses. The use of this bedside technology is intended for quick (within 3-5 minutes) identification of pathologies that are not otherwise appreciable by examination. POCUS is not intended to replace formal ultrasound diagnostics but to enhance the NP’s bedside exam.

Purpose: The purpose of this survey is to identify current practices of POCUS among NPs; and to assess the need and/or interest for training. This survey should take less than 3-5 minutes.

Directions: Please answer the following questions about Point-of-Care Ultrasound use in certified nurse practitioners (NPs).
