The Port of Hastings is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from community-minded individuals and local organisation representatives to join our newly formed Community Liaison Group (CLG).
The Community Liaison Group is a participatory forum to learn more about the Port of Hastings operations, and assist us with connecting and engaging with community.
Please note that the CLG is distinct from the Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal Community Reference Group (CRG), which will continue as the dedicated forum for the VRET project.
Who we're looking for:
We are looking for proactive residents, business owners, and community leaders who are keen to participate and engage with our port.
Applicants who express interest in joining the CLG will need to demonstrate in their application:
- Representation: Ability to represent a specific local community, local organisation, agency or represent on behalf of themselves (such as a local resident)
- Commitment to the Code of Conduct: Agreement to participate in the CLG in an ethical, constructive and respectful manner
- No Conflict of Interest: Have no known or potential conflicts of interest that would undermine the group or individuals’ integrity as a member of the CLG
- Availability: Demonstrate availability and intend to attend scheduled meetings (bi-annual) where able
- Be Local: Members must be Victorian based, and demonstrate a clear connection either geographical or other to the local area
In addition, the Port welcomes and encourages a diversity of perspective and interests, and will seek to establish a strong cross-section of the community, this could include but is not limited to:
- Business: Commerce, local traders and industry bodies
- Education: Primary, secondary and tertiary education
- Environmental: Scientific, land care, action, research and advocacy bodies
- Government Agencies: Local and state government
- Local Industries: Fishing, boating and manufacturing
- Maritime: Port agencies, local maritime enthusiasts, historic / policy interest groups
- Residents: Local stakeholder in proximity to PoHC assets or representatives from resident groups
- Special interest: Hobby, volunteer or interest groups
