ESB is the national body in England which seeks to ensure the quality of all forms of Community Development Learning and Qualifications. It uses a peer led endorsement and developmental process to promote course and work place based quality learning opportunities and Recognition of people’s learning from their experiences and activities in community development.

Any provider of training, whether accredited or informal, can find details of how to gain endorsement on the ESB web site click here

ESB has commissioned an initial piece of research about Community Development activity in England and the opportunities that exist for developing and supporting people involved in their community. The aim is to provide a snapshot of Community Development activity at this point in time, to begin to identify opportunities for supporting and promoting Community Development and its associated learning and qualifications.

The survey will take 5-10 minutes to fill in.

We have two survey's that you can complete. One is for people working with community groups and another for people delivering community developent learning programmes. If you are involved in both please fill them both in.

What happens with the survey results?
The results will be presented at "Shaping the Future" - Where now for Youth and Community Work? Conference organised byTAG: The Professional Association of Lecturers in Youth and Community Work taking place across the country; the discussions at these workshops will inform the next stages of the research.

What is the Research for?
The ESB research aims to map current Community Development activity and identify Community Development learning opportunities.

ESB provides endorsement for all types of training courses and learning in Community Development. If you are running courses for community groups or staff we would like to hear from you.

We will be sharing our initial findings in March, It would be great if you could complete the survey as soon as possible or by March 28th at the latest.
