About This Survey
The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is developing a Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) to enhance the safety and resilience of students, staff, and facilities against natural disasters such as earthquakes, wildfires, floods, and other hazards.
An LHMP is a community-based plan identifying natural hazards that could affect local schools and neighborhoods, evaluates their potential impacts on people and property, and outlines long-term strategies to reduce future risks. This survey gathers input from LACOE staff, families, Local Educational Agencies (LEAs), and community members to help LACOE leadership understand local concerns, strengthen emergency preparedness, and reduce risks to schools, programs, and offices across the County.
Your feedback will help identify the community’s level of concern about different natural hazards, their potential impacts, and actions that can reduce those risks. The survey also seeks input on the types of mitigation projects and policies LACOE should prioritize to make its schools and facilities safer and more resilient.
The survey is anonymous; no personal or identifying information will be collected. Please answer based on your own experiences and observations. This survey will take approximately 10 minutes.
This survey will remain open until June 1, 2026.
