The IPRO QIN-QIO in collaboration with the ASCP Foundation has been awarded funding for the Pharmacist-Mentored Implementation Collaborative: Opioid, Antimicrobial and High-Risk Medications Stewardship Program (PMIC).  ASCP, through the ASCP Foundation, will offer pharmacists participating in the pilot program, continuing education in appropriate medication management as it relates to opioid, antimicrobial and high-risk medication use in nursing facilities. In turn, pharmacists will implement stewardship strategies, mentor nursing facility staff, and collect data on established metrics for a twelve-month timeframe. A stipend is provided to pharmacists participating in the pilot programs.
