It’s time to develop Southland’s story – articulating what’s great about our past and present, and what our desired future is. We need your help to do this. Over 150 Southlanders have shared through interviews and workshops, and we are looking for your input too.

We’re a big region with plenty of things to celebrate, so we need to distill what makes the Southland lifestyle unique – and how we should sell it. This will help us keep Southlanders here and feed into programs to attract employees, students, visitors and investors.

How will the Southland Story be used? It will provide an umbrella messaging framework and a set of tools local businesses, councils and organisations can apply to their marketing and communications (as appropriate). This will help us promote the best aspects of the region and drive consistency of messaging about what makes Southland a great place.

Other regions are doing this well. We need to do the same. So whether you’re from Waikiwi, Waikawa, Waianiwa or Waikaia we want you to share your thoughts by answering the following questions.

Thanks for taking part.
