Title: Online Video Gaming Culture
Objective & Procedures: The aim of this research is to collect data on online gaming (PC and Console), gaming preferences, and interpersonal experiences. The first two researchers are online gamers and have used their involvement with the community to generate the questionnaire. This survey will take 15-25 minutes to complete.
Risks and Benefits: The risks for participating include discomfort with answering personal questions. For example, a few of the questions assess interpersonal problems that may occur due to time spent online gaming and substance use while gaming.
The potential benefits of the research include gaining an increased understanding of how online gaming affect time use, social relationships, and gaming preferences.
Confidentiality: Your responses in this experiment will be anonymous, as you will not provide your name or any other identifying information. Only a code number will be used to identify your responses. Your data will be stored in a secure place, and will be accessible only to researchers directly involved in this study. Results will be reported as aggregate data only.
Voluntary Participation and Right to Discontinue Participation: Your participation in this experiment is completely voluntary. If you refuse to participate as a student, your instructor will provide other means of earning research credit. You have the option to discontinue your participation in the study at any time. If you are a community member (not a student), You have the option to discontinue your participation in the study at any time.

Restrictions: You must be at least 18 years old to participate, and you may participate only once.
