Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is upgrading Pump Station 38 in West Seattle's Alki Beach Park near 1411 Alki Ave SW. Learn more about this infrastructure improvement project and proposed public artwork online at:

In general, most of the construction activities will occur within the underground pump station with surface restoration and art installation having some aboveground impacts to the site. When we have a contractor onboard, SPU will work with them to identify ways to minimize impacts to the extent possible and share additional details about what to expect during construction with the community.
As we finalize design and prepare for construction, we ask that you share any questions that you have about what to expect during construction. We will work to take your questions and comments into consideration as we work with the contractor and as we develop information for construction notifications and updates.
This questionnaire should take about 5 minutes to complete. Thank you in advance for taking the time to share your construction questions with us.
