The Town of Schroeppel is facilitating a Brownfield Opportunity Area Plan funded by NYS Department of State. Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) Plans provide communities with funding and technical assistance to develop community-driven, area-wide plans to effectively redevelop brownfields (properties with potential contamination such as former gas stations, dry cleaners or post industrial properties) and other vacant, abandoned, and underutilized properties.

The Town of Schroeppel and its partners have initiated and completed several planning processes in recent years that have readied them in the next step towards sustainable growth and now turns its attention to the BOA to plan for redevelopment. Your participation in the survey will guide redevelopment scenarios, priority projects, and focus areas for the project. The BOA generally surrounds 57 & 57a, Huntley Road, and the waterfront within the Town. It also includes William J. Farley Jr. Community Park, Three Rivers Plaza, and the Town Municipal Building. To better understand the boundary and study area, the BOA can be found on the map below
