In 2027, we will be celebrating 200 years of York College and its predecessors serving the community.
Over two centuries, the institution has evolved, changed its name and location and continued to adapt to the needs of the people of York and the surrounding area. From the York Mechanics’ Institute, established in 1827, through the York Institute of Popular Science and Literature, York School of Design, York Institute of Art, Science and Literature, York Technical Institute, York School of Art, Ashfield Secondary Modern School, York Sixth Form College, York College of Art and Technology on Tadcaster Road, and York College of Further and Higher Education, to today’s York College & University Centre – each has played a part in the story of the institution we know today.
Wherever, whenever and under whichever name you studied, you are part of that story.
As we prepare to celebrate this remarkable milestone, we want to hear from the many thousands of former students who have passed through our doors over the years.
