Grief & Loss: Navigating Bereavement in the Workplace

Grief doesn’t stop when we walk into work.

The death of someone we love may be the loss we think of first, but grief can also come with miscarriage, divorce, caregiving, changes in health, retirement, a loved one’s dementia or other significant life transitions.

And grief doesn’t follow a predictable timeline. It can affect our energy, concentration, emotions, relationships and ability to manage everyday responsibilities—including work.

Through this Lifesaver Wellbeing topic, we’re creating space to better understand: How does grief affect us at work, what helps people navigate loss and how can workplaces better support employees through bereavement?

There are no right or wrong answers. Share what feels true for you.
