Introduction to the survey

Peary caribou were reassessed by the NWT Species at Risk Committee in May 2022. The Committee recommended this species continue to be listed as Threatened in the Northwest Territories (NWT).

‘Threatened’ means a species is likely to become Endangered if nothing is done to reverse the factors leading to its extirpation or extinction.

The objective of this survey is to gather public feedback on the proposed re-listing of Peary caribou as a Threatened species in the NWT.

Comments are due by October 31, 2022.

The survey should take about 5 minutes to complete. If you would prefer to contact us directly, you can email your comments to the Species at Risk Secretariat at sara@gov.nt.ca.
