Recyling/Garbage Survey - 2021

The Village of Berwyn is considering having our garbage contractor supply residents with Blue Recycling Containers for weekly door-to -door recycling service. If this service is put in place, the existing recycling facility next to the arena will be closed.

We are looking for input from our property owners and residents before we proceed further.

This will increase the monthly recycling charge by $1.72 per month.* However, we feel the added convenience will result in more residential recycling. All recyclable items can be put in the one blue bin. No sorting needed.

We are also asking for comments into changes to the garbage system. The Village of Berwyn is considering having Prairie Disposal Ltd. Provide residents with (64 gallon) plastic containers for automated curbside garbage pick-up. This will increase the garbage charge on your utility bill by $1.00 per month.

* 3. Presently we are charging $3.25 for recycling and $18.00 for garbage per month. The anticipated monthly rates in 2021 will be $4.00 for recycling and $18.00 for garbage. The monthly rate for curbside pick up would be $5.72 for recycling and $19.00 for garbage.
