Education Experiences - D/deaf and Hearing Loss Families

We want to know your thoughts

The Federal Government is currently reviewing the Disability Standards for Education.

These standards are designed to support all Australian students with disability to access and participate in education and training on the same basis as their peers without disability.

Deafness Forum Australia is preparing a submission to the review. We are keen to know the practical experiences of young people who are D/deaf or have hearing loss and their families to understand how the Standards could be improved to achieve better outcomes for our community members.

We are interested in the direct experiences of children and young people who are D/deaf or have hearing loss and their parents and caregivers across all educational settings.

This includes:

- Pre-K and Primary School
- Secondary School
- Higher education (TAFE and University)

Our policy team will use your input to develop our submission. All information provided will be de-identified unless you provide express consent for us to share your details.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact our Policy Director, Hayley Stone, directly on hayley.stone@deafnessforum.org.au.
