What is the project about?
This study aims to understand the role of fear of pain and coping strategies on health-related quality of life and clinical outcomes reported by people experiencing chronic pain.

Who is invited to participate?
If you are aged 18 years and above; experience pain for more than 6 months and have good English language comprehension you are invited to participate in this study.
What will I be asked to do?
Participants are required to undertake a survey which will take about 10- 15 minutes. The survey is anonymous and participation is voluntary. No information that can identify the participants will be asked. You can withdraw from the survey at any time. By submitting the survey participants are providing their consent to be involved in the research.
Are there any risks associated with participating in this project?
There are no foreseeable risks or side effects,both immediate and later. However, in case of emotional distress please discontinue the study. If the distress continues please seek help from your general practitioners. Australian participants can contact Beyond blue on 1300 22 4636
What are the benefits of the research project?
A better understanding of fear of pain, coping strategies and health-related quality of life influence and/or interact with each other will help to provide optimal and personalized management for people experiencing chronic pain.
What will happen to my information?
The data will be stored on a password protected desktop located at Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health. Written material will be stored in a password controlled University of Adelaide computer, which will only be accessible to the researchers. The findings will be made publicly available on Prof Lisa Jamieson’s University of Adelaide webpage and will also be published in the form of Journal article and at conference presentation.
