2026-2027 STAR NET Family Book Project Request

For early childhood classrooms, in STAR NET Regions I or III, serving children with disabilities.

We offer the Family Book Project to early childhood educators that serve children with disabilities in school district classrooms in STAR NET Regions I or III. If you can answer "yes" to the four questions below, please continue with a request. We would love to provide books for your students and their families!
1.Are you the lead teacher of a classroom that includes young children with disabilities?(Required.)
2.Is your classroom associated with a school district?(Required.)
3.Is your school district in STAR NET Region I or Region III? If you aren't sure, see the map at https://www.starnet.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/ColorMapOfRegions.png.(Required.)
IMPORTANT: Delivery of Family Book Project books is limited to one delivery per classroom, per fiscal year (beginning July 1st). If your classroom has received a delivery of books from us since the last July 1st, please wait until after the upcoming June 30th to make another request. Deliveries are also limited by grant funds. We can not guarantee that all requests will be fulfilled.

Funding Note: Illinois STAR NET is operated through a grant awarded by the Illinois State Board of Education; 100% of annual funding for the project is from federal sources and supports ISBE’s goals and the Illinois State Performance Plan (SPP) for IDEA Part B. STAR NET provides free training, consultation, and resources to the early childhood community and families in Illinois. Family Book Project books are provided by this funding - there is absolutely no charge to educators or families. We only request completion of a brief evaluation to give us and our funding agency feedback on the project.
