Western Sydney University member survey

The university has advised the PSA (CPSU) 149 Professional Staff elected to take an Early Voluntary Retirement at the end of 2016.

They have told us the short-term plan for filling the vacancies is to appoint fixed-term staff to these roles until the Project Essex restructures commence in June 2017. HR believes all of these positions have now been filled. Based on the feedback we’ve received from PSA (CPSU) members so far, the union doesn’t agree that this is the case.

The university would like PSA (CPSU) to provide specific examples of the impact of EVRS on remaining staff. You will not be personally identified, but your detailed responses to the following questions will help us to push for the resources you need.
1.Which business unit do you work in?
2.Did your business unit have any vacant positions before the EVRS? If so, how many?
3.Did anyone in your business unit take the EVRS?  If so, what is the total number of vacancies in your area?
4.What steps (if any) has the university taken to fill these positions?
5.How has the EVRS impacted on your workload, and the workload of your business unit?
6.Do you have any other comments?
