Support the NHS and others learn from your community-led stories, experiences and observations

New NHS Alliance is delivering a project supported by The Health Foundation that seeks to answer:

'How can the NHS work with mobilised communities to increase prevention and health creation? Learnings from COVID-19.'

Anyone can complete the questionnaire including healthcare professionals, residents, carers, charities, local businesses and of course community organisations.

You don't have to have been involved in the activity, you may have just seen people doing great things.

The project aims to:
  • Uncover and capture stories from those working actively in communities that show what happens behind the scenes, as well as the benefit and impact of community-led approaches
  • Understand what sparks the passion that mobilises communities to self-organise towards common goals, draw on community strengths and take a lead on issues that matter to them
  • Explain, make sense of and increase the profile of community mobilisation while it is happening and visible through the COVID-19 response so that it is better understood as a health creating process for achieving the things that matter most to a community
  • Identify the implications for NHS systems and practice towards enabling, and sustaining community-led health creation beyond COVID-19
For more information on Health Creation and New NHS Alliance, please visit our website.

We are looking for examples in which local residents and community groups have come together and addressed specific COVID-19 needs within their community.

Examples:
  • will have contributed to people´s health and wellbeing
  • may (or may not have) supported people in a way that the NHS would/could have
  • can support NHS and others learn about working with local people and communities
  • can have supported 100s of people, a small community of say five people, or a specific group such as the traveller community
