Advancing Equity for Families
This track will convene conversations to promote racial awareness, diversity, equity, and inclusion in partnerships to strengthen families and enhance communities. Presenters share experience, expertise, and lessons learned, as well as strategies and approaches that participants can use to disrupt systems of oppression and co-create a more just and equitable future. Implementing the Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support
Content related to program or systems-level implementation of the nationally-adopted Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support and the five areas of practice covered in them – Family Centeredness, Family Strengthening, Embracing Diversity, Community-Building, and Evaluation. Presenters are required to have previously completed the Standards Certification Training.
Utilizing the Strengthening Families Framework and Approach
This track will focus on ways that programs, communities, and states are supporting families to build protective factors using the Strengthening Families framework from the Center for the Study of Social Policy. Sessions should address strategies being used to engage families, service providers, system leaders, and/or decision-makers in building the protective factors, as well as efforts to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of those strategies and to expand the use of Strengthening Families to new audiences.
Enhancing Family Support Practice
This track will feature program or systems-level work with families that is reflective of a multi-generational, strengths-based, family-centered approach. Sessions may focus on such areas as enhancing parenting skills, fostering the healthy development and wellbeing of children, youth, and families, preventing child abuse, increasing school readiness, connecting families to resources, developing parent and community leadership, engaging males/fathers, supporting healthy marital/couples relationships, and promoting family economic success.
Submission Process: Complete the form below and submit by Monday, April 13 at 5pm PT. A Word version is provided for drafting purposes only. Notification of acceptance/non-acceptance will be sent by the end of May.
Logistics: The Lead Presenter will receive discounted registration. Co-presenters will register at the advertised registration rate - Member: Early Bird $375/Regular $425, Non-Member: Early Bird $400/Regular $450. Travel expenses are not provided. Each workshop will be equipped with a laptop, LCD projector, screen, and easel w/pad and markers. Presenters are responsible for all other materials. You may be asked to combine your workshop with another presenter who submits a similar proposal.
