Important background information

Thanks to the support of our community, Dublin City Schools is set to open a new middle school in Jerome Village, which will open in the fall of 2021.

In the fall of 2019, a committee consisting of community representatives, parents, and District staff began to meet to generate name suggestions for the District's new middle school.
As a member of the Dublin City Schools community, you are invited to provide input below regarding possible names for Dublin City Schools' new middle school to be built in Jerome Village. The committee's purpose is to recommend names to the Board of Education for their consideration, as the Board has the responsibility of choosing a name.

Board Policy 7250 - COMMEMORATION OF SCHOOL FACILITIES
The Board of Education is responsible for the naming of school buildings and/or District facilities. The Board may name the school building or facility after a person, geographical location, or landmark. The Board may wish to commemorate the building or facility by means of a plaque. If a school building or facility is named after an individual, that commemoration shall be reserved only for those individuals who have made a significant contribution to the enhancement of education generally or the District in particular or to the well-being of the District, community, State, or nation. Any employee of the District thus honored must be deceased or no longer employed by the District prior to the Board's selection of his/her name for a school building or for the naming of a facility.
