1.Introduction
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council wants to know your views on its proposals to renew the “Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council (Anti-Social Behaviour and Nuisance) Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO)" for a further three years (until 19 October 2029).
The council proposes to retain the following:
- the existing provisions controlling alcohol consumption and prohibiting public defecation, urination and antisocial behaviour and nuisance within 11 designated town, village and local centres across the borough:
· Redcar; Marske; Saltburn; Eston; Normanby; South Bank retail parks including Low Grange and Cleveland retail parks; Guisborough including retail parks and shopping centres south of Rectory Lane; Loftus; Brotton; Carlin How; and Skelton including retail parks and shopping centres located at Skelton Wandhills
The council proposes to vary the Order as follows:

amending the extent of the Marske restricted area to incorporate the adjoining Marske valley gardens and neighbourhood

amending the extent of the Saltburn restricted area to incorporate the adjoining seaward side of Marine Parade and the Lower Promenade

introducing a new offence across all 11 restricted areas of “sitting, standing or loitering or being in possession of a receptacle used to obtain monies, for the purpose of asking for money or other objects or items…”
