Parent Survey for Children with Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities

As part of an ongoing research study, Interactive Media Institute, a nonprofit based in San Diego, is reaching out to parents and caregivers to provide us with information about difficult contexts of everyday life for their children who have autism and other developmental disorders.   We are researching how communication and social understanding may be enhanced through new technologies, such as virtual reality.

Some children have difficulty in group settings, playgrounds, restaurants, or grocery stores.   Others have difficulty with transitions or tasks at home.  We would like for you to provide us with a list of the most challenging contexts for your child.  Your answers may be as specific or as general as you’d like.  Our main goal is to gather as much information as possible so that we can research and develop new technological intervention strategies for children with special needs.

**Your responses are anonymous. No information regarding your name, your child’s name, or any demographics will be collected**
This data is being collected by Ian Miller of Interactive Media Institute and Catherine Miller of Speech Tree Therapy Center.
