Have your say on the future direction of the water sector in South Australia

Water for Growth proposes a vision for water in South Australia, whereby the State is:

A water enabled economy, and a global leader in water solutions, innovation, technology, and education.

As a starting point for engaging with the water sector and more broadly on Water for Growth, this survey has been prepared to seek your initial perspectives on some of the more fundamental areas relating to water, the economy and the future role of the water sector. The findings from this will inform a future workshop that will help shape the future of the water sector in South Australia.

1. Leverage $1 billion in investment from the Australian Government in productive and resilient water infrastructure, including in delivery and treatment, alternative water supplies, industry efficiency measures, R&D infrastructure.

2. Create an acceleration program to focus on water solutions for local, national and global applications.

3. Create an across-government water solutions procurement initiative to build further scale in the local water sector and strengthen pathways for water solutions to market.

4. Develop a smart water education and training initiative to further the capacity of the water sector and water dependent industries to apply new water innovations and to attract international students and thought leaders to South Australia.

5. Build a strong water brand for South Australia that strengthens our position as a leading water solutions provider in the Asia-Pacific.
