Your HSU bargaining representatives met with Ramsay yesterday for the 4th bargaining meeting. Unfortunately, Ramsay have still not provided a wages offer and are still only considering a few HSU claims. Ramsay want you to respond to their proposed changes before providing you with a wages offer.

Ramsay has provided the below Log of Claims to HSU members:

  • Clause 54.8 – remove the word ‘not’ (highlighted below):
54.8 An Employee will be entitled to payment for a public holiday not worked, where the employee would not have otherwise been rostered to work ordinary hours on that day.
  • Recreation Activities Officer – add ‘or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer’ in classification definition.
  • Change ‘Housekeeper’ classification title to ‘Housekeeping Team Leader’
  • Change ‘Catering Officer’ classification title to ‘Catering Team Leader’
  • Alternatively, combine ‘Housekeeper’ and ‘Catering Officer’ classifications into one and call it ‘Housekeeping/Catering Team Leader’.
  • Review of definitions and roles for GSO’s
  • Clarify/include housekeeping duties/tasks in GSO grade 2 definition.
  • GSO Grade 4 – inclusion qualification requirement for Diet Aides in definition
  • Chef classification – include qualification requirements in definition
  • Remove ‘he/she’ from maintenance officer definition
  • Review of maintenance classification structure and definition
  • Review of ‘Cook’ classification definition
  • Review wording in infectious diseases clean allowance clause
  • Review of number of rooms for infectious disease clean allowance
  • Review of clerk classification structure and definition
  • Review of storeman classification structure and definition
  • Review of in-charge definition
  • Review of Allied Health Assistant Qualification requirement
