Dubbo and region is experiencing a period of exciting change and transformation. We are growing, developing and evolving, into a dynamic, globally-connected city that is setting the vision for great cultural and economic development for our region.
Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) has recently developed a new Cultural Development team that will lead a bold new approach to how regional centres develop and showcase culture beyond the walls of galleries and theatres to transmit culture to our region and beyond, identifying and developing partnerships to support not only cultural production but community well-being, social inclusion, economic development, sustainability, activation and tourism growth. We envisage a region where culture touches each and every citizen and visitor.
To support this, DRC is developing a new Cultural Plan to strengthen and embolden our region for the immense opportunities and challenges that unprecedented growth brings. To develop this plan, we need the community to assist us in realising this and to share their vision of what the cultural future looks like and how we will get there.
We call on you to join us and register your interest to be part of a Community Focus Group to begin the discussions that will inform our new Cultural Plan.
